Create relief block images to print from onto handmade paper made by you!  The instructor will guide the way for you to create block prints from soft-cut, linoleum or wood onto your unique papers. Most materials included.

7/15 - Morning - Introduction to the Nature and Compatibility of Papermaking and Relief Printmaking. Examples. Materials. Handouts. Demonstration of the process of Papermaking. 
Afternoon - Students begin creating handmade paper forming.
7/16 - Morning - Students continue papermaking.
Afternoon - Students 'couch' handmade paper sheets with added materials, as chosen.
7/17 - Morning - Students conclude papermaking. Demonstration of Relief printing with handmade paper. Sizing dried sheets. Students create images and begin cutting blocks (wood, linoleum or soft-cut).
Afternoon - Students continue cutting blocks.
7/18 - Morning - Students print on handmade paper. Demonstration of Chine Colle.
Afternoon - Students continue printing.
7/19 - Morning Students continue relief printmaking.
Afternoon - Students conclude printing. Class review of each others' works.
 
Supplies-
Many supplies are provided within the studio including abaca pulp sheets for papermaking, deckles and frames, blenders, vats, relief wood blocks, linoleum and soft-cut blocks, printmaking inks, tools, cleaners, etc.
*** Students may add supplies of their own to augment the studio materials, including various papers to papermaking and printmaking methods.
